I left Twitter last year to focus on my startup, but had missed the community so I decided to try and get back in the New Year. My first attempt to rejoin left me very confused as to why scammers and spammers in my messages had a blue check mark. After a couple of days exploring the new twitter under the Elon reign it was very apparent how badly Twitter was run and the toxic environment that has harvested through it. I have kept Twitter to stay in touch with some of the good friends I made on there but the value otherwise has disappeared. - Randi

In case it helps: I’ve lost my legacy blue check a week before the removal of legacy blue checks was even announced and yes, it was after public criticism of Elon Musk. Coincidence?

I left Twatter aka The Rage Machine in 2020 after...umm...14 years. I miss Twatter like I miss having a second asshole. Well done Chris.

I’ve been a daily Twitter user for probably 10 years myself and the past two weeks deleted it from my devices in an attempt to move on. I caved once but so far it seems to be somewhat sticking as I search for other outlets.

But it makes me sad. I miss Twitter (which is also sad in its own way). I don’t truthfully want to leave it but my values don’t align with the new owner and I feel... gross now when I use it and know who & what I’m supporting. So alas.

Good riddance! I put my account to sleep a few days ago too. Enough is enough.

Well said the other side is getting hard, but great you've made everything clear.

And the hashtag(ger) exits, yet, still exists on 4/20. Twitter is dead to me. Long live the hashtag!
